Perci, or Persephone, was named because she came from the Underworld. Well, actually, she was born underground in the air handling tunnels of Cornell University. Perci was pretty big when she was finally old enough to leap out where we could catch her, but she has tamed up into a hilariously playful young cat with a round wide-eyed face. She likes to play keep-away, but she can be defeated with a treat. We use baby food, and we can't even say those two words aloud without Perci zooming over. Perci will require a very special person who wants a cat she can laugh at, but with a patience to coax her into being more approachable. When in a cage or run, Perci can be petted, purrs loudly, and rubs up against you. But once at large in a room, she has to come to you. If you come for her, she'll stay just out of arm's reach, thinking it's a great game. Over time, with the right person, we expect this tactic will fade as it has with other cats in our facility. Want some hilarity in your life? Perci is the one. She comes with a laser toy, which she will follow right up the wall if you point it there! She is up to date with routine shots, altered and already house trained.
